New DAF XF for Reliable Plant Haulage

Reliable Plant Haulage, a small family run transport company situated in rural Wiltshire, has welcomed a new DAF tractor unit into its mixed fleet of Low Loaders.

Pictured next to a 57-plate Euro 5 model, the new DAF XF 530 FTS 6x2 brings all the benefits of a new and updated model, that meets Euro 6 standards. This truck has all the standard features of an XF, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Halogen Headlights, DAF Sound System, and more. Additional added extras, for maximum visibility, are Kelsa Bars with lights, and beacons. Also, a double hub reduction makes the unit suitable for heavy haulage work, CAT 2 special types, up to 60 tonne GVW.

Lee Eagle, Area Sales Manager for the Western Region at Motus Commercials, delivered the new DAF to Reliable Plant Haulage in September. After a couple of months of operation, we caught up with Nigel Hull, owner of Reliable Plant Haulage, to see how he’s finding his new DAF XF.

Nigel comments, “It’s much more comfortable, quieter and powerful than my old DAF. The improved safety features are beneficial and the rear-lift, that the older DAF didn’t have, makes it a lot more manoeuvrable. We’re really happy with it, it’s a very nice truck.”

The decision to buy this specific truck wasn’t a difficult one for Nigel, who explains, “I’ve always liked DAF’s, going right back to the 3800 DAF models when I started out 35 years ago. The 57-plate has been a spectacular vehicle and we’ve had no major problems with it at all.

“We had a great existing relationship with Lee at Motus Commercials, who was able to offer us a very competitive price and the communication with the team at our local dealership in Swindon has always been good. The team is honest and open, and that’s what counts.”

Reliable Plant Haulage have taken this DAF XF 530 FTS 6x2 with a 5-year full DAF R&M package, giving them the complete support of Motus Commercials’ workshop facilities to maintain the vehicle in optimum condition. Nigel Hull is looking to purchase an additional DAF early next year.
